Character: Sailor Pluto (Setsuna)

(When reborn she is Meioh Setsuna, but there's no mention of her real name before her rebirth, so I will stick with simply Setsuna for lack of anything much else other than "Princess Pluto" ^_^; ... not to mention she could be aware that she gets reborn with that name... Oh I hate the space-time sometimes >.<;;; )

Series: Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (mainly manga-verse, as the anime is
even more plot holed when it comes to Pluto lol)

Version: Just before she stops time and dies to stop Demando from joining
the two Silver Crystals (so the Pluto who has been guarding the gates
since who knows when)

Age: Approx: 18-20 in looks, but is said to have lived through countless
eras. Her exact age is unknown and impossible to trace. Gender: Female
Sexuality: Hetro

Appearance:

Her outward appearance lends greatly to her mysteriousness, appearing to
only be 18 to 20 in looks, but her garnet eyes show a soul that is
ancient. Her complexion is somewhat olive, lending itself perhaps to the
myth that Hades was also dark in complexion. Long dark green hair falls
far down her back, almost brushing the back of her knees. Thick bangs fall
over her forehead, and part of her upper hair is drawn back into a round
bun at the back of her head. She is a tall lady (as Japanese characters go
at anyrate), standing 5' 8" and heightened further by the high heels she
usually wears.

Transformed (as she almost always is) she wears a white, sleeveless
leotard with a short black skirt. A sailor style collar wraps around her
shoulders and a black chocker fits snuggly to her neck with a garnet gem
hanging from it. Maroon coloured bows tie at the back of her skirt and on
her chest, with a large garnet stone in the middle of the front bow. Long
white gloves come up to her elbows, with matching black edging, and a pair
of black, high heeled boots, with a white edging come up to her knees. A
pair of garnet, arrow shaped earrings hang from her lobes and a golden
tiara with a red gem rests across her brow. A set of silver keys hang on a
long chain that hangs around her waist over her skirt, and she carries a
key-like silver staff, with a large heart- shaped decoration containing a
large red orb connected at the top.

Untransformed she currently only wears a long black stain gown, the dress
of her Princess self.

Personality:

Mysterious and lonely, she is the solitary soldier, chosen to spend
eternity in the underworld guarding the gates to space-time. Standing
alone at the time gate, she has spent her incredible long life, by
herself. Her loneliness is what greatly defines her, making her seem very
introverted and aloof. She has great troubles expressing her emotions
outwardly, being used to having to bottling them up and keeping them to
herself much as she keeps what knowledge she has of the future a steadfast
secret. While she comes across sometimes as being cold, she really is a
kind and gentle soul, trapped in her own destiny.

She is very loving and loyal to those she cares about, this showing
especially towards Chibiusa, who she calls "Small Lady", and is fiercely
protective of her as if she were her own child.

She has a good deal of patience, being very mature as well as very calm
and collected. She is very wise and intelligent, especially concerning
time, as she's had 'all the time in the world' to gain knowledge from
watching history unfold through the time gate. Her life resolves around
her duty and destiny, taking her responsibility to protect the door and
the flow of time very seriously, and is willing to sacrifice herself to
keep the universe safe.

Weaknesses:

Setsuna seems to have a soft spot for children, particularly Chibiusa (And
Hotaru later on in the story.) and will protect them without hesitation,
even at risk to her own safety.

She has been on her own for so long that she has problems interacting with
most others, yet she does seem able to communicate well with children.

She is also greatly tied to her duty as the guardian and as a Sailor
Soldier. She has trouble relaxing and being "not on duty" as she has been
for so long. And also from this duty she will feel it necessary to attempt
to find out what is going on with Paixao since it is pulling people
through space-time and interrupting time's flow, which is her
jurisdiction.

I also feel that since she certainly can seem to have a sense of time's
flow, the way Paixao is almost chaotically sucking things through time,
her senses would be rather overwhelmed, since there's no way Paixao could
be considered a 'small' disturbance. (Lol)

History:

Setsuna is the mysterious Sailor Soldier of Pluto who bears many titles.
She is known as the Senshi of Revolution, the Solitary Soldier and
Guardian of the Door of Space-Time and the Underworld (Or specifically
titled "Guardian of the Underworld (Between Times)") She references Hades
(aka Pluto) and is the daughter of Chronos. She is also the Princess of
Pluto.

Being one of the most mysterious of all the Sailor Senshi, very little is
known about her, and what is known about her is riddled still with more
questions than answers due to her nature of time. You could go as far as
to consider her as a walking paradox. Where she starts and ends is almost
impossible to make sense of since she exists presumably outside time. (And
yet, she has aged since she was first sent to the gate...)

What is known is this:

Sometime during the Silver Millennium, Queen Selenity (Princess Serenity's
mother, also called Serenity in some translations) sent a young Pluto to
the Gate, with three laws.

"Pluto," Queen Selenity says. "You watch the space-time door. You are the
soldier who controls time and space. There are three things you must not
do. First, you may not cross time. Second, you can never leave the door
you must protect. And third thing you must not do: You mustn't stop time.
You and the garnet rod you carry are endowed with the power to move time.
But no matter what happens, you must never stop time. If you ever violate
that law...You will give up your life."

And there she guarded until the Silver Millennium fell. She, and the last
two Senshi, Uranus and Neptune used the talismans to call Sailor Saturn,
who brought down her glaive to bring silence to their galaxy, so that all
could restart again. Only Pluto remained, returning to the Time Gate.

How long she guarded the gate is a mystery and impossible to guess, but
it's said she has lived longer than anyone and has seen many eras. The
Gate itself exists between one time and another, possibly somewhere deep
in the underworld. It is known she did likely have contact with Neo Queen
Serenity and King Endymion (as the Gate can be reached easily through the
future Palace in Crystal Tokyo, but only certain people may enter it), and
did form a very close friendship between Chibiusa (daughter of the king
and queen) along with Diana (the daughter of Artemis and Luna).

Then the people of the Black Moon attacked Crystal Tokyo, and Chibiusa
escaped to the time gate (unknowingly having the Silver Crystal inside
her), where she stole a key from Pluto to go to the past to find Sailor
Moon.

Events lead up to the leader of the Black Moon getting his hands on both
the crystals of the future and present.

Back at the gate, Pluto senses something is horribly wrong and Diana
offers to watch the gate for her. She rushes with King Endymion to the
scene only to find that Demando is about to try to join the two crystals
together which would be catastrophic. She decides she must break the last
taboo.

If not for being pulled to Paixao she would have died, and been reborn by
Neo Queen Serenity on earth, but she does not seem to be confined to the
gate, leading people to wonder if she has another self still at the gate
... even now there could potentially be another of herself there.

(It huuuuuuurts my brain >.<;;; And Takeuchi Naoko's lack of considering these
things has left fans with these stupid holes that make little sense.
>.<;;; This is why my Pluto is before her 'death'.)

Abilities/Weaponry:

Her main weapon is the Garnet Rod, which is the key to Space-Time. It and
the Garnet Orb are used for all of her abilities, and she is also highly
skilled at physical combat with it, wielding it like a staff.

The Garnet Orb connects to the top of her staff. It is one of the three
talismans that can summon the Soldier of Rebirth , Saturn.

Pluto Crystal - Everyone has a star seed inside them, but a Sailor Senshi
has a special seed called a Sailor Crystal. The Pluto crystal is what
transforms her into Sailor Pluto with the words, "Pluto Planet Power, Make
Up!"

She also holds a chain of keys that also allow access to the gate, in a
similar fashion to the Garnet Rod, but it is their soul ability. (And no
help to her in Paixao :} )

She has the blood of Chronos in her veins and is very in tune with the
time- flow, bring able to sense disturbances in space-time. She is not
all-knowing, but has gained a good deal of knowledge from watching the
flow of time from the gate. She does seem aware of certain things that are
meant to be and is aware when they are in danger of being changed, and
like many of the senshi she, is prone to premonitions.

Dead Scream - Sailor Pluto's first and main attack, which sends a globe of
energy at the target. Garnet Ball - A defensive ability using the Garnet
Orb, to form a round barrier. Chronos Typhoon - A secondary, more powerful
attack that sends a whirl-wind from her staff at the target.

Time Stop - The ultimate taboo. To use this forbidden ability is certain
death to her. Dark Dome Close - An ability which is used to close the Door
of Space-Time, to seal pathways through time. (Which, I oddly enough,
found described as being similar to Sora's key locking ability ... Um ..
so yeah ... it would not work in Paixao. XD )
